Choose how you want to work
Desktop applications and bootable tools
Active@ Data Studio combines desktop applications with bootable tools for recovery, imaging, erasure and other disk tasks. It is worth comparing when you need several utilities rather than one operation. Review the included products and editions before selecting a license.
A Windows-based bootable environment
Active@ Boot Disk starts a separate recovery environment from USB or optical media. Compare it when you mainly need tools that work independently of the installed operating system. Choose the download for the target computer's processor architecture and check driver support.
A Linux-based bootable environment
Active@ Live CD provides a Linux-based environment with recovery, backup and security tools. Compare its supported hardware, boot modes, file systems and included operations with your needs.
A boot environment is separate from the installed OS
The environment on the USB drive does not need to match the operating system installed on the disk. Compatibility still depends on the target hardware, file system and operation. Test the appropriate evaluation media on the target computer before relying on it for an emergency.
On a phone, use this guide to compare products and save the product link for your computer. Choose software and boot media for the computer you will work on.
Only need one task?
A dedicated product may be sufficient. Use the guides for disk erasure, data recovery or backup and cloning to compare a focused product with a bundle.
If you work on customers' computers or across multiple sites, check the selected product's license conditions and contact LSoft if the deployment is unclear.
Compare the complete disk toolkit
You need desktop applications and bootable tools for several types of disk work.
12 Disk Tools in One Package!
Compare editions and options
Choose Data Studio when several disk jobs belong in one package. It combines desktop applications and bootable tools rather than requiring a separate purchase decision for each task.
Data Studio package
For recovery, backup, erasure and maintenance across a range of tasks.
- KillDisk for disk erasure and Disk Image for backup and restoration.
- File Recovery, Partition Recovery and UNDELETE for data recovery.
- Boot Disk for a Windows-based recovery environment.
- Password Changer resets passwords for supported local Windows accounts.
- Disk Monitor, Disk Editor and Partition Manager for disk inspection and maintenance.
- ISO Manager and additional utilities listed in the package comparison.

Compare the included editions with your requirements; buying a bundle does not automatically include every separately sold industrial or advanced configuration. If you only need one task, a dedicated product may be sufficient.
Next: choose the license for your use. Current prices and available licenses are listed on the product pages.
- Review the included products and their editions against the tasks you need.
- Check target hardware compatibility and the license conditions for your own organization or client work.
Another option: Active@ Boot Disk
Compare this if you mainly need a Windows-based bootable environment rather than desktop applications.

For desktop applications as well as bootable tools, compare Data Studio. For a Linux graphical boot environment, compare LiveCD. The operating system on the device used to browse this guide does not select the target boot environment.
Next: choose the license for your use. Current prices and available licenses are listed on the product pages.
- Check the download for the target CPU architecture and confirm controller and network-driver support.
- Compare included tools and edition limits before purchasing.
Another option: Active@ Data Studio
Consider this if you also need the desktop applications in addition to bootable tools.

LiveCD boots an x64 Linux-based recovery environment. Choose the installer for the computer used to create the boot media: both the Windows and Linux installation packages prepare LiveCD, not different target operating systems.
Freeware evaluation package
Try the boot environment and evaluate the included tools.
- Contains demo versions of the Active@ applications.
- Available with a Windows or Linux installer.
- Boot Disk Creator prepares the USB or optical media after installation.

Check the current target hardware, boot-mode and file-system requirements. A Windows download here describes the installer host; it does not turn LiveCD into a Windows-based recovery environment.
Next: choose the license for your use. Current prices and available licenses are listed on the product pages.
- Check the supported target hardware, boot modes and file systems.

Start with a dedicated backup tool
Backup and cloning are your main tasks, so a dedicated imaging product may cover your needs.
Create and restore disk or partition backups, or copy a disk to another drive.
Compare editions and options
Disk Image creates and restores disk backups and provides disk-copying tools. Choose by the backup types, rescue environment and automation required for the computer being protected.
Lite / Freeware
For basic manual image backups from Windows.
- Create and restore disk images, compress them and browse mounted images.
- Does not include rescue boot media or raw sector-by-sector imaging.
- Choose a paid edition for incremental backups; choose Professional for scheduling, encryption or Windows Server.
Compare Lite features →
Standard
For manual backups with additional image types and a rescue environment.

A backup image is saved for later restoration; a clone writes to another disk. Confirm copy features and destination capacity for your workflow, and keep a separate backup before overwriting a destination.
Next: choose the license for your use. Current prices and available licenses are listed on the product pages.
- Use the backup and cloning guide to check the workflow and required edition features.
Another option: Active@ Data Studio
Choose a broader bundle if recovery, erasure or other utilities are also needed.

Recovering files is your main task, so compare a focused recovery product first.
Recover files and disks lost due to accidental deletion, disk formatting or virus attack
Compare editions and options
Choose Standard for file recovery, Professional for advanced analysis and RAID reconstruction, or Ultimate when the affected PC needs bootable recovery media. If you do not yet know what can be recovered, start with the demo.
Demo evaluation
Assess the disk and preview what the scan finds before buying.
- Scan for lost files and inspect the results.
- Recovery has a file-size limit; this is an evaluation download, not unrestricted free recovery.
- Install on a healthy disk and use a different disk for recovered files.

File Recovery and UNDELETE Standard both cover file recovery. Compare the supported file systems and workflow; scan results do not guarantee that a file's contents are intact.
Next: choose the license for your use. Current prices and available licenses are listed on the product pages.

Boot media must support the target computer and controller. Available erasure methods depend on the edition and environment; ATA Secure Erase is not available in Windows or Windows Boot Disk and requires a supported drive and connection. Paid editions have no per-erasure charge; check license scope and parallel-disk limits separately.
Next: choose the license for your use. Current prices and available licenses are listed on the product pages.
